What does working with a Defender specialist deliver?
You receive a configuration for the agreed Defender components, with validated security policies and detection settings. Documentation and handover help your IT or security team assess alerts and administer the environment.
Which Microsoft Defender components can be implemented?
Support covers Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity and Defender for Cloud Apps, integrated through Defender XDR. The exact scope depends on your environment, priorities and licences.
Can an existing Defender environment be improved?
Yes. For example, when devices are not correctly onboarded, policies do not fit the organisation or alerts are difficult to assess. We start with the specific problem and determine the changes needed.
What is the difference between Defender Antivirus, Endpoint and XDR?
Microsoft Defender Antivirus is the built-in antivirus protection in Windows. Defender for Endpoint is the enterprise endpoint security platform and, depending on your subscription, offers additional detection, investigation and response capabilities.
Defender XDR brings together signals from licensed and deployed security products, for example for devices, identities and email. Enabling antivirus alone does not mean this whole chain is configured. Check which devices and services are actually reporting and who handles the alerts. Which licences are required for Microsoft Defender?
Microsoft 365 E5 is one route to a broad combination of Defender capabilities. Microsoft also lists Microsoft 365 E3 with the Microsoft Defender Suite add-on and standalone Defender subscriptions. Access to the Defender portal does not mean every capability is available: your licences and deployed products determine what you can use.

Who handles alerts after implementation?
Agree in advance who assesses incidents, who can take action and when to escalate. A deployment is only useful when the IT or security team knows how to act on its signals. During handover, we discuss the selected settings and responsibilities. Continuous monitoring and availability outside working hours require separate arrangements.
What is the difference between Defender and Purview?
